Soak Up The End of Summer!
As the sunny days grow shorter and the back to school ads start rolling in, we know it’s time to savor every last summer moment. Kitsilano is Vancouver’s summer hot spot – here is our list of must-dos before the rainy months set in.
Yoga on the Beach
Every Sunday evening at 6:00pm, Semperviva Yoga is hosting free Hatha yoga classes at Kits Beach. Bring a mat, towel or nothing at all and join Kitsilano’s finest yogis in the grass area right behind Kits pool for a weekend stretch. Their last class will be held on Sunday, September 14th.
Catch an Outdoor Show
Under the big white tents, enjoy some end of summer Shakespeare at Bard on the Beach – right in the heart of Kitsilano. This year they’re playing A Midsummer Night’s Dream, The Tempest, Equivocation and Cymbeline. Shows run until September 20th.
Drinks on the Patio
You will never find a shortage of places to grab an ice-cold patio drink in Kitsilano. This year, kitsilano.ca voted on their top 5 patios in kitsilano, and the winners are: Darby’s Pub, Local, The Naam, Las Margaritas and Chewies. We couldn’t agree more.
Eat Ice Cream, Lots of Ice Cream (and frozen yogurt)
What better excuse to eat this tasty frozen treat than celebrating the end of summer. Make sure to swing by Menchie’s newest location in Kitsilano – customize every bowl to suit your every craving.
A Picnic in the Park
Pack yourself an assortment of goodies and head to one of Vancouver’s many beautiful and scenic parks for a picnic. Some of our favorite spots are the grass area in Kits Beach, Jericho Beach Park, and Vanier Park. But beware of the seagulls! Be prepared to defend your food against these entertaining thieves.
While you’re in Kitsilano soaking up the end of summer, feel free to swing by our Open House for York. Every Saturday and Sunday from 2pm – 4pm at 2028 York Ave. It’s already 50% Sold so don’t miss out on seeing these beautiful new townhomes!
